Help Selling 1925 Seahawk in S Ill.

Can I get some advice selling this? Ebay? Don't like Craigslist. It does not run. Was told top ask $4000...In Southern Illinois. Is it too rough to sell here??? Thanks

e-bay is one way to get the word out to the most people that would be interested in this type of equipment. if you chose to go that way my advice is to have some one take a number of pictures of it all 4 sides of course but also the the control panel, instrument cluster, interior shots and underneath. then start the auction just high enough to cover your expenses with out a reserve price. as for value I ave no Ida what this truck in this condition would be worth. to a man that has been seeking one all his life verse the average collector would be a wide range in price. but if the goal is to remove the lawn ornament. that is the best way to get the best price among the people that see your auction that day. unless of course on of the collectors here calls you up with a offer you can't refuse.

Thanks, John. I have sold on Ebay, but never a vehicle. Closed listings are in the $500 to $1000 range and I was hoping to get more.....

It's a fire truck, correct? While there is some crossover interest on this site in vintage fire equipment, your best bet would be to post the same message on the SPAAMFAA site www.spaamfaa.org , which is a site like ours but focuses on vintage fire equipment. It is the Society for Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America. They have a nationwide presence, and would generate the most genuine interest in your vehicle. They also have a classified section for vehicles, and if someone is looking for what you have, you can bet they will check there sooner or later.

Nice truck and I agree with Tood that would be the best place to list. If you were closer to me I would have it sold for you in a heartbeat.
