Help identifying coach

Could someone please identify the model of this Miller-Meteor coach? We believe possibly Citation??? The roof in front was flat paint and behind the chrome strip was crinkle. What are the door decorations called? It is a 1968. Thank you.

I'll guess Citation Landau (because of rocker moldings even though landau irons don't match) with (originally) a Corona roof molding. No clue about door moldings.

This 1968 Miller-Meteor is a Landau Traditional with optional 3/4 roof treatment. If it was a Citation, there would be a chrome molding that went over the roof (at the B pillar) and very pronounced chrome trim above the rear side doors. The Citations also had different landau irons with a large square design in the center.

Those things on the doors are simply...added on, aftermarket...bling.

Something tells me that Senor Vyse and Senor Smith may both be familiar with this coach!

It would be really cool if they were. :) There is a tag on the keys that lists a funeral home (I can't remember the name right now :pat: ) in Big Rapids, MI. The interior other than the front carpet is beautiful and in great shape.

the chrome in cased draperies were not a MM item. but have been added buy one of the owens. plausible there trade mark. the flat black front half was shinny black at one time. with the MM you can read the color on the tag on the left inner fender. that is the color it left the factory as. you did not say if it was a combo or some one had just equipped it for a gurney.

The factory colors listed on the manufacturers tag are: Crinkle black top, and Sable black bottom. Straight end loading hearse, full rollers permanently attached to the floor with no attendant seats.

Sorry about the confusion. When I said flat paint I should have said non crinkle. The information plate lists the paint as follows: top-black crinkle, center-sable black and lower-850-360. I'm thinking the cot brackets on the side must have been for a removal stretcher.

Those swags

Those door swags were pretty popular around here since they were sold by Dennis Distributor, the local Miller-Meteor dealer. I have some pictures around here of other Dennis cars with that trim, Dodds Dumanois Co.'s 76 Miller Meteor three-way being one that comes to mind.

Here's one....

This one belonged to Allen Funeral Home in Fenton, Michigan
