Hearse not running right

When I turn on the headlights while driving, the car starts to surge and loose power. As soon as I turn off the headlights it runs normally.

4 years ago I changed to electronic ignition. It has been running fine until now. Any help would greatly be appreciated. John

Sounds like generator/battery going bad.

thanks Ken battery is fairly new but I do have another generator and will try this.
