Hearse hunting...

So Russ Street calls the other day, he spotted "a hearse with a bubble light on top" behind an old service station near me during one of his long hauls. After given the location I headed out, camera in-hand.
Pulled in and beat on the door. I was greeted by 3 nice guys who told me "It's in for a full restoration" and the owner is local. They were shocked I knew it is a Superior Crown combination and allowed me to look it over and take some pictures. The guys at the shop said they'd pass along my contact information and that the owner had sought out this particular model high & low until he found it... so he does have the interest & enthusiasm to seek out a specific coachbuilder & model. I'm looking forward to meeting him!
Anyone seen this one before?

This was my first view...

Are these original landau bars? Very odd looking on a Superior...

If you get the owners name and address and forward it to me, I will send him / her a copy of The Professional Car, along with a membership application. Who knows, he / she might already be a PCS Member....

I notice that the highbeam headlights and the drivers spotlight have a greenish tinge to them (actually I like it!!) is there any particular reason as to why?? or is that just the way those particular bulbs were made?? Very nice looking coach!!!
Dana.

So.... that's at a "restoration shop"???

could be, can't say till it comes back out;) it would look to me that a half dozen goats running around may be in order. a man might want to find some of those parts cars someday. trust me goat or sheep stuff is a lot easer to lay in the cows.

Kurt, typically it's an auto repair shop. Currently they have a 1979ish Trans-Am inside they're doing some restoration on. The building is a quite large & very old roadside service station. Building is run down, out front is packed with cars in for repairs or are parts cars... nothing special just modern stuff. This coach is parked out back behind the building. They said the Superior will get a full restoration while there.

The high beams and spotlight have a green tint to them, it looked like a transparent spray & not a film like window tint.

No discussion needed Russ... you found it and sent me there. Had it been for sale I would be a player to purchase only if you passed on it :D
