hazard flasher location

Anyone know where the hazard flasher is located on a '91 Lincoln Towncar? I know its under the dash somewhere but can't find it, the only one I can find is the turn signal one (thats easy). Turn signals work, hazards used too. All fuses are good. Also if I ever find it I thought of putting in an alternating flashing unit, wonder if it will work?

I went to a site I found through Google. When I asked 'g' the location of the hazard flasher for a Lincoln Towncar it sent me to a site that wanted me to pay up to $33 to get the answer.
I know there is a site to ask and get the info. My son has been on it. I will be asking him about it soon. Next step the library?

Heck....... we answer all types of questions in detail here for nothing... Maybe we need to organize, and start charging??? LOL.... :rolleyes:
 
best bet is if not on the fuse block on the back side of the lower dash right about by your left leg. little spring clip holding if from the base wires pointing to the front of the car.

I looked there too but couldnt seem to find it. There is a Ford dealership about 40 miles from me that will let me look at their shop manual, may have to make a trip.
I prolly looked right at it, just didnt notice it, there is so much crap stuffed under the dash and on the columb on this car.
 
Yesterday I went to the Ford dealer and looked through their shop manual. I havent had a chance to look again, but the shop manual says its behind the fuse box almost right behind the turn signal flasher, which is mounted in the front of the fuse box. Now to get it out and either replace it, or see if I can put in a alternating flasher in its place (Im hoping).
 
I don't think you can change it with an alternating 3 pole one. it's set up for a two pole on or off flasher. the same as the turn signals. but it would depend on how ford ran there wires if you could separate them. to do an alternating one, both lights left then right. you can tap into the harness on the bulb side of the brake, turn and the 4 way flasher switches. you would end up running wires from the four bulbs to the 1 and 2 terminals in the alternating flasher and then a separate switch to turn it on. one could find the wires by the fuse block or headlight switch so you did not have to run then from one end of the car to the other. but I would say you will need to make you own circuit. it's all in the way the power gets to the bulb.

I know I can make it work by the way you describe, but I dont want to get that carried away. I was just thinking if I could replace the flasher with one that alternated I would, I have never had to replace a hazard flasher so I was not sure if it had 2 or 3 poles.
