Started out on the evening Saturday Oct 27th as just a go out and check out the party goers and the Halloween costumes type of joy ride. Driving around downtown Minneapolis and the upscale "Uptown'" area of Minneapolis. Party goers were spilling out into the streets. Downtown streets got closed down and blocked to curb the activities, so we went "Uptown". To much money in that part of town to shut down any ones good time. Driving around it became obvious that folks that had cabs called for them were getting rides to go home and others were subjected to try and wave cabs over for rides. Well, in the melee, the costumed Halloweeners started yelling at the hearse and blocking forward progress through traffic. Thanking people for the compliments on the cool car and answering questions of those that pushed closer to look in the rear windows, we started getting propositioned by folks needing rides. Why not? Okay first three were two guys and a girl just needed a ride a few blocks, so after asking for their destination, turns out these were not just the average drunks. The three got into the coach all wanting to go in the back. What fun the questions. Have dead people ever been in the back? Oh yes, 100's likely. You should of heard the roar of laughter! So they ended going to a Lake of the Isles address. The spendiest place to live near downtown. Very wealthy area. Okay, I agreed to stay, until they came out to show me their appreciation. So after a long enough while, the two guys come out with these business cards and some canopys with caviar. They were asking me if I had ever eaten caviar? You bet, very nice people and friends for life, good caviar too. Back to the main drag where the partiers were. Again, three girls standing in the street waving their arms. "We can't get a ride" so I said hop in, they thought I was kidding. All three jumped in one in the front and two in the back. Screaming, and laughing, they all at once said the same thing at the same time " we have people on speed dial if you do anything funny" Oh I laughed and I told them I was at a disadvantage because I had no one on speed dial. What a very nice group of people I had the chance to give rides too! So appreciative the girls were, they kept on trying to give me a couple bucks saying they had so much fun that they would always remember the fun they had. I said no, more times than I could remember. After dropping off the three at a house party they were staying at over night, I got a chance to check the back for vomit only to toss a 20 dollar bill out the inside of my hoodie. So much for the couple bucks. Although the smell of alcohol vapor in the coach could of been measured, every pasenger that night, as drunk as they were were some of the nicest people I have had the opportunity of helping out. Polite, intelligent, funny. I think next year I would do it again. Dawn had fun next day telling the girls at work about it.
