Grat time at Miller-Meteor!

Jeremy D. Ledford

PCS Volunteer Chapter President
Got home about 9:30 CST last night and had a good trip back home. Once again had a great time at the M-M reunion and book signing as usual! A great event was put on by Tom Caserta! The book signing went very well and everybody enjoyed them selves as you can tell! Thanks to all who came and helped with putting on the events!

thank you one and all

Speaking for Tom Caserta I am sure he would like to thank one and all for participating in the 2010 Miller-Meteor Reunion and booksigning. I would like to thank all of you who responded to the posting here asking who was bringing a coach. When I told Tom how many had responded he was a happy guy.
Thanks to every one,
Mike

:thankyou2:

Tom Caserta/My Hero

Let me tell you what kind of host Tom Caserta is. Going down I blew a tire and where I got towed they did not have my size. By the time I got to Piqua Tom had two brand new white walls waiting on me and lined it up to get them put on. I met Tom at another M-M a few years ago, he was at Bernie's funeral, he has come to our Carnation Meet. I cannot say enough nice things about Tom Caserta, always warm and friendly you always feel welcome in Piqua he should be the Mayor there.

AND to think Tom Caserta wasn't even mentioned in The Miller-Meteor Book! Some former employees refused to buy a book because of that little mistake!

Tom Caserta

As Ron stated Tom Caserta is a person you like to know. I am sure the mayor would just concede if Tom would ever run for office. A twenty minute trip in Piqua with Tom takes an hour or more. Everyone wants to stop him and say a few words. For Tom, getting some tires for Ron was just part of being Tom. A procar person could not ask for a better friend.

Tom Caserta

Tom is one of those people who gets along with anyone. He's got stories and jokes that'll keep you laughing for hours, yet he's got a serious side that lends itself to well-executed events. Four examples would be the Miller-Meteor Reunions to date. Tom's faith is very important to him; I don't think he's missed Mass too many times in his lifetime. Personally, I've really enjoyed seeing him (and many others in the Piqua area) get excited reliving the Miller-Meteor days, proudly sharing the history with all of us who are interested in it.

Here's to Tom!

I've known Tom Caserta for many years. He was the parts and service guy for Miller-Meteor and, before that, worked in Arkansas with Cotner-Bevington. There's no doubt that Caserta is a great, warm-hearted guy who worked hard in conjunction with Tony to organize the Reunion. If I remember my university English, acknowledgements in a manuscript or thesis are generally given to those who have contributed substantially to the text. As far as I know, Tommy didn't contribute to the writing of the book in that way. I saw McPherson present him with a free copy of the book. In fact, they were photographing the presentation in front of that '62 Miller Meteor in front of the Library. Caserta must have been surprised because he wept when McPherson gave him the book. He is really a great guy but, probably not a large contributor to the text in this book.

Jim, sorry 'bout that. Got there Friday night saw the cars, got my books signed, attended the slide presentation and took some pictures outside the library until it started to pour. I did get a photo of McPherson presenting the book to Tom Caserta in front of that 62 M-M limousine-style outside the library and spoke with Tommy afterwords. Because of the rain and a "honeydo" list...I came straight home that night. I wish I could have stayed over and actually met some of you guys. Hey, didn't you love that '38 Miller carved coach? There were some really great cars there.
