About 21 hours from now on December 9 2010 at 14:00 hours a 1956 Cadillac S&S 3 way will go on auction at Zettlemoyer Auction House in Fogelsville PA
Near Allentown. It is with lots of other old funeral related stuff from an old closed funeral home. The auction website with several pictures of the car is:

It appears to be a very nice car in the photos, but apparently has been on blocks since 1969 and does not run.

WOW!!! What a rare and interesting coach! Appears to be a combination Service Car/Funeral Coach. It looks to be in remarkable condition, the interior looks near perfect. Thanks for posting Jeff, I hope this car finds a good home.

It appears it's primary purpose was as a Service Car... Notice the blanked out "windows" with chrome wreaths on the rear side doors (blank behind the drapes on the inside too), the reversible floor panels (but no attendant seats) and the cot bar, all suggesting the intended use for this coach was primarily removal work, with the option of being pressed into service as an end-loading Funeral Coach.

A very interesting Combination Coach... Just not the kind of Combination we're all used to seeing!
 
Did you also catch the window crank on the rear passenger doors? Solid clue that those service panels are removable.

The size of the reversible floor panels is impressive alone. I've seen smaller MM panels' alignment get caddywompus in a shorter period of time. Must not have been converted back and forth much.
 
car also has no working brakes (except for emergency brake) and several areas that have been chewed by mice or moths. i placed a large absentee bid on it anyway. :)

I decided that I am the boss around here and the good old hubby is not authorized to tell me what i can and cannot have. The cars make me happy. If he doesnt like it, he will go to the highest bidder. :)
