Glass needed for 1966 S&S

I finally contacted the owner of an old coach I have seen in Rochester, NY for a few years (Austin Spencer Collision, Brighton/Henrietta Town Line Road)

I contacted him by e-mail to the comany and he responded. It is a 1966 S&S Cadillac end loading hearse. He has owned the coach for a long time, had fixed it up years ago and is interested in fixing it up again and asked if I might be able to provide any help in locating glass for it.

He is in need of a windshield, where can these be found new?? and if he finds used what years are the same?? '65 to '70??

He is also in need of the window in the rear loading door, I'm guessing this would be S&S only?? again, what years??

And if anyone happens to have this glass please let me know and I will pass along to him your contact information along with what you have and what price you are asking for it.

the glass vender is on the list here on the site. I would say if it's got the crease in it you'll need a S&S back glass.

I can turn you on to a COMPLETE 1966 S&S limo style combo for $2,000 firm that would benefit you much more than just glass. It has new brakes & exhaust. runs & drives. It looks weathered but not torn up or rotten. Seller said ALL the glass is great and having a good parts car can be a huge benefit. Still has the date marks on the hood too. The coach is all together & not disassembled. If you're interested it is just outside Louisville KY, can provide you with all the seller's info and several photos I have... PM if this interests you.

PS: If your buddy buys it, i'd be interested in several parts off of it for my '66 ambulance. I was going to buy it for the windshield and several other parts.

John,
Currently it only has a plexiglass rear window in it, I only took a quick look at the car yesterday and figured by the big S&S emblem covering nearly the entire fuel door that it was an S&S, I really don't know how to ID these older coaches from one another except that Superior always seems to have that little upswing/step up on the rear quarters. I will look at the vendors and see what is there.

Dwayne,
the car your describing actually sounds like a car that deserves to be restored rather than a simple parts car!! It may actually be in better shape than this one!!! This IS NY after all!! ;)
and I don't think he is looking to spend that kind of money. however I will pass along the info just in case and let you know if he bites!

Dwayne's idea is far better than a '67 S&S Landau available here in TX for $1200 firm. No engine, transmission, gas tank, or title...and the windshield is cracked. Owner will not part it out either.

Dwayne,
well, I guess I was WRONG!!! Alan Austin e-mailed me back and YES!! he just may be interested in that coach!! Alan e-mailed me and would like your contact info, I will PM you his e-mail and if you could give him the information I would appreciate it!! plus of course I would LOVE to see the pictures myself!!

Dana, it won't win any beauty contests but here it is!
Figured your buddy would change his mind once he priced a windshield & rear glass... realizing for a few hundred more he could have a complete, good running 1966 S&S coach with good glass and parts galore. Will email him tonight & see if I can put the two of them together on this S&S...
