Getting ready for Hudson....

Finally got the grille out of my car this afternoon so I could do some painting/cleaning and replace the upper bumper impact bar (mine is bent up on the driver's side). Also, the grille extensions are in need of repainting in a bad way. Here are some pics of the car grille-less. I was lucky, most of the nuts/bolts were rusty, but they all came off, whew! I also discovered where my negative battery cable is SUPPOSED to go--I knew it wasn't supposed to be grounded to the engine. After removing the wheel well splash apron on the passenger side, I found the original cable with the end cut off (it can be seen in the space under the battery) still routed to it's intended place on the frame under the radiator cradle. Mystery solved!

I don't have one. The center one looks just like the other two, the bracket that it is attached to had to come off to take off the grille. I have seen the trumpet horns for sale, and have been tempted to buy one, but never have. I guess it was an option?

I had to look it up. In the 1968 Cadillac options guide, auxillary horn for all models, $15.80 I think the last one I saw for sale was $100.

If you look at your horns carefully, you will see which note they are, since it is noted on the horn itself. A, C, & D are the traditional horn notes, and then the trumpet is the optional. On cars such as the Chevrolet, they are just marked Hi & Lo...
