Get Low - another hearse movie!

Now that the movie 'Get Low' is starting to come out in theaters, will any of you be seeing it? Robert Duvall, Bill Murray and Sissy Spacek star in it, but more importantly, it stars Bill Peoples' 1927 Henney combination coach! You can see the trailer on the movie's website. You can also find out when it will be coming to a theater near you, by looking at the release schedule. Maybe you can go see it as a chapter event!

Jeremy took me out for dinner tonight and to see "Get Low" for my birthday. The Henney had a LOT of footage in the movie. Has anyone else seen it yet? My favorite line in the movie was Bill Murray saying, "No one steals a hearse". If you haven't seen it, it is a great movie. Or maybe catch it when it comes out on DVD. Bill's name was even in the credits at the end. I told Jeremy on the way to the car that I wondered if Bill Murray thought hearses had come a long way!

I looked at the release schedule and see that it is on here in New Smyrna Beach. I think I will go see it on my next night off call. Thanks for bringing to our attention..;)

You will love it, especially being in the funeral business. And you'll have to let us know who the funeral director reminds you of!

Having seen good reviews for a few weeks now, Lisa and I finally got to see GET LOW at a reasonably-local theater in New Windsor, NY last Saturday, September 11th. Hearty congratulations are in order to Bill Peoples for the amount of full-body and plot-central screen time his 1927 Henney received in the finished cut of the film - for once, no need to freeze-frame the DVD to catch a glimpse of one of our pro-cars in action! Movie critic buzz that Robert Duvall might receive another Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Felix Bush (impressive how each grizzled old coot he plays is somehow fresh and different from the last) can only be of aid to boosting GET LOW's grosses and, by consequence, the PCS' ongoing mission of fostering appreciation for vintage funeral vehicles and ambulances.

Get Low

Kim and I went out for dinner and a movie last night, so we saw GET LOW. Wow, what a great movie! We echo all of the comments that have been made here, especially the congratulations to Bill Peoples.

Well the "funeral director" was really a salesman and politician. Reminded me of a Northern funeral director I know. I loved the way they drove the hearse everywhere and noone even seemed to notice or think it was odd. Actually, I found it to be a very touching and romantic movie. And of course, the car was great!:toocool:
