Found 1926? Studebaker hearse.

Just came across this on Saturday. A gentleman approached us about a "1930s project hearse". We were currently at a hearse show, but arranged a quick visit afterwards. It seems its just the body, but we were able to inform him its more than likely a 1926-ish Studebaker. Possibly Superior or Meteor built. We'll be going back to get more pics, and a better idea if its something we want to play with.

Yes, they're laying in the back. Front seat bottom, hood, both doors, front windshield frame, and 3 sets of headlights. The floor hardware looks to be present as well.

Start of a neet car. You going to look for an origional chassis? Dont know what they used know i,t was common to use a chassis manufacture as most were just body builder's back then.

Not really sure. I'd like to use an original if possible, but not opposed to building something either. If its a Meteor, I know they had their own chassis, or used the Manufacturer's chassis and stretched it. We're still not sure if it's a Meteor, or possibly a Superior built coach.

We got it home, & now the fun begins. Its sitting on a Dodge truck chassis at the moment. The hood and lights that were in it seem to be from the brass era. Hopefully the Studebaker guys will be bringing some goodies this year to the Hershey fall swap meet.
