Forgive Me Everyone-But I Just Have to Say...

Many of you having been involved in this pro car hobby over the years may take this for granted, but this is a new experience for me. Since Saturday, I have had a car that is road worthy and I can take out and cruise around in. Having a blast! Never knew what I was missing until the last few days. Its going to be a great summer. Will be even better come August when it comes out of the shop. No photos presently but will put some up as process moves along.

After owning a pro car and driving it on a daily basis for the last 22 years I still feel the same way! In my case I would not consider it a hobby but an obsession!

The disease.

Hi Scott,

This is really more like a disease.....I mean that in the best of ways, but once you've been infected, it stays with you for life. one might even say its a terminal illness. Hearses have become a life style for me, not so much a hobby. At times they can become a real pain in the wallet so there's no taking them for granted, that's for sure. I've been fortunate enough to have been driving them for the better part of 20 years already and it never gets old to me.

disease, obbsession, pain in the wallet

Whatever you call it, there is no cure. But who is looking for a cure when you can have so much fun with the people and the cars?
Mike

we are hoping to put 900 miles on one saterday. so we'll see if it's fun or fustrating. now don't you wish you had put the taillights in that 71 you could have been driving all last summer

Virtually all the members of the PCS feel the way you do, Scott, and the way the previous posters feel. For me, it's largely about the artistry and craft put into these gorgeous cars, more than anything else. And of course I love it at shows when more people come to see my flower car than some other guy's Lamborghini. But really, as exempllified last summer at the PCS Internation Meet in Ohio, it's really all about the people, and friends, sharing and trying to help each other with their automotive (and sometimes personal) trials and tribulations. Last year's first official PCS Man-Cave proved what I'm saying, without a doubt. And as Darren Bedford proclaims: "YES! Women are allowed into the PCS Man-Cave!"

I put a couple hundred miles on our '72 this past weekend. What a comfortable ride. It's amazing how much more road noise our 2003 Pontiac Vibe has versus the Cadillac.
