Flower Car Thread

Ok I was searching the site and couldn't find any flower car threads with a lot of pictures. So post anything you have in any shape and any make. I really like the 1960 and older and the 1965-67 Cadillac based flower cars but I want to see other makes too. Thanks!

here are a few

A few of my favorites.

- 1940 Eureka Ford Deluxe coupe flower car/hearse. One-off for Biedelman FH, Naperville, IL.

- 1954 Superior Cadillac flower car. Was for sale on eBay recently.

- 1979 McClain Cadillac flower car. Was for sale on eBay recently.

Two different 1979 Lincolns. The first photo is a John Ehmer shot taken while the car was still in service, though you'd have to ask John where. My understanding is that it was one of two built by McLain for AHA, and thus sold as being an AHA product.

The lower two photos are of one of the cars in my collection. Admittedly it is another backyard El Camino conversion (or Ranchero conversion in this case), that the previous owner gave up on and I'm continuing with. Though not an official flower car yet, it will be! My plans are to restore this car complete with an appropriate stainless steel deck.

Another oddball car, the 1958 (with 1957 front end) Pickway-Ford All Purpose Funeral Car, raffled off by Danny Ryder at the 2006 Kingsport Meet, won by me, and now owned by Chuck Snyder the elder.

59 S&S I think these pics came from EBay? I have no info on it and some else might be able to fill in the blanks.

That '59 is an odd one.. The '57 and '58 versions, designated "Park Lane" and "Park Place" respectively, were essentially one-off concept cars shown at NFDA conventions to gauge industry reaction to a convertible-combination type of Flower Car/Service Car/Hearse. Spitler Funeral Home of NJ owned both and I suspect the '59 was once a Spitler car too.

Here's the '57 S&S Park Lane..

The 59 S&S pictured above is alive and well in South Carolina........... however the top is no longer removable.

I really dig the 1958 ford with the 1957 front clip! I've always wanted a 1958 ranchero with a 1958 Edsel front clip! Those lincolns are pretty neat looking too! As for the camino job it looks very savable and could be made nice I've seen a lot worse! That 40s Cadillac flower car is the bomb! Man I wish they would have made more of these.

1953 Eureka Flower Car

I thought I'd post a few photos of my 1953 Eureka.

Tom your 53 is a stunning piece of history! Very good looking and great flow and design. The color choice really works for me! How exactly were the flower cars built anyway? Standard or commercial chassis? Seems to me with a 4 door Cadillac 53, a chevy hardtop rear window, and really large amount of sheet metal fab work someone could make a nice replica style car. Don't really know where to begin on the stainless/aluminum bed pieces though.
