Flint Micro Meet Thank You

I want to thank everyone who made the trip to Flint over the weekend for the Micro Meet. This was our biggest turnout to date. It was like a mini International Meet. I would like to thank Brady, Brad, Kevin, George, Bee, and Dale & Betty Cole for all your help in making this a successful event. There were so many others that helped as well. Thank you!

If it were not for the problems with the food at the restaurants, the weekend would have been perfect.

Thank you, Richard, for taking some of us on a tour of the funeral home you used to work at. I am so glad that it worked out for the "John Keel Award" winners to meet with Ann Keel and visit with her.

I really hope that everyone enjoyed themselves and I am looking forward to Albany.

Kim, we thank you, and Brady, and Tom, and George & Bee, and everyone else for making it a great Micro-Meet. You guys do a good job and are gracious hosts. We had a good - if busy and short - time.

Had a Short Great Time

While my time was short over the course of a few hours, I enjoyed every second of it. Thanks to all who made it such a great time. Of course yesterday I stopped at a turnpike rest for some lunch and who and the hell do I run into but Duffy and Frank! We had lunch together so I guess I extended my visit a tiny bit.:drive2:

The Micro-Meet is a meet of scale model professional cars. A lot of folks brought models, built or bought, in various scales. The models were displayed, and some were judged for awards. I don't have the list of the awards, but I won best scratchbuilt ambulance for a conversion of a Matchbox Cadillac ambulance.

Also, Tom McPherson gave a power-point presentation on his upcoming Miller-Meteor book, due out next month. This should be an outstanding book that provides the history of A.J. Miller, Meteor Coach, and Miller-Meteor. It's a huge book with a lot of information in it, many years in the making.

All this was held in Brady Smith's Garaj-Mahal in Flint, MI, with his pro-cars on display there as well as his model collection. Brady also has a very friendly cat. And there was a lot of socializing accompanied by food and drink. It's great to spend time with your PCS friends.

As mentioned in another thread, a group of us went on a road-trip to visit John Keel's grave outside Saginaw. We stopped at an abandoned funeral home on the way.

Finally, after dinner at a local establishment Saturday evening, the PCS Board of Directors meeting was held. That'll be reported on by the secretary.

There's a lot that went on in a short time. It's great fun. Join us next time!

Flint

I certainly had a good time in Flint - my 4th or 5th trip there in the past few years! The best part of the weekend was certainly the time spent talking to great PCS friends from all over.

I too, had a great time at my first Micro Meet! Thanks to Brady & Janet, Kim, Bee & George, and everyone else who helped put it together. Everyone made us feel welcome, and seeing Brady's Garaj Mahal was terrific! Brady has an amazing collection of not only full size pro-cars, but more diecast cars than anyone could count, as well as some very nice automobilia. Of course, seeing many PCS friends made the trip worthwhile.
