First Christmas Parade

Completed our first parade today in the Pontiac. Ran like a top..."in the green" as we say as far as temp, fuses, etc.

Would have never made it this far without the telephone help from Paul and the advice here online at the PCS. Much more to do on it, but I felt as though this was a great "shake down" cruise.

I'll post more pictures of mine in my album, but here's a link from The Daily Advertiser, our local paper:

That was AWESOME!!! Congratulations........xmassxmass:specool: Shouldn't be long and I'll have my "Q" up on top.

Was it me or is your "Q" tilted up a bit in the front?

Angle of the Q

It does look a little slanted up on closer inspection, but appears to be original stock. I have two Federal CP25s, a Federal Interceptor, and a MARS 888 (all from the old Cadillac) to add to the trim when I get to that point.

Not sure that I like the beacon, and I have a Federal 184 w/ red/white bulbs under a clear dome that I may switch out.

Still have lot's of body work to do, but as Paul can attest my goal was to get the drive train solid. It's has been fun along the way. The list goes on, but for now it is Christmas parade season in Cajun Land! I think I am going to another this weekend.

The contour base under your siren is for a pre-1971 Superior or any year M-M or C/B. What you need for this car is a flat mounting base, which is fairly easy to find. Factory Q installations by Superior of the period also had a slight wedge mouting between the base and the roof of the car.

Mount

That explains the angle. I'll be on the lookout because it has to come down for repair and perhaps the new base will give me a better seal. I have not started on the electrical panel, only the under hood work (i.e. engine, trans, control circuits, solenoids, etc)

So....if anyone has a flat mount for sale, please let me know.

Thanks for the info!

Last two...

Two more. The front really shows the bent bumper, most likely from a poor tow sometime in the past.
