Family Hearse

I've always wondered when or if someone would ever build one of these. Well, Federal has. A Family Car & Hearse in one. Kinda cool. Wonder how well familys will take to this.

most likely designed for pallbearers more then family I would have to see the seating arrangement to understand how 6 guys and the driver fit in.

Coachbuilders have been building these for many years for the Japan market. I would love to have one, but not a Federal.

Family hearse

I thought image coach out of warsaw indiana, if i have the name right built one the one's i saw where only on the lincoln towncar chassis and what ever happened to them.

You are correct on that Andrew. Image is still here in Warsaw and as far as I know they are still building hearses. The funeral home my family uses has one they have had for a number of years. This was the car that took my Dad for his last ride several years ago. Not that I don't like to root for the home team, but I just don't care for the looks of them personally. I'd much rather have an S&S Masterpiece!

You are right, but they will hold 5 plus the driver and the casket. The first one is built by Krystal, then an Image Coaches Cadillac and Image Coaches Lincoln. The only thing I like about the Federal family hearse that I wish the others did is make it a 6 door, makes it appear longer.

Image Coaches

Those Image Coaches look terible - the curve of the 2nd door's window matches no other line on the car, and the original curve of the same door looks completely inappropriate. The edge of the door is no longer anywhere near the rear wheelwell, so it should have a straight line just like the front door. Its obvious that they are saving money by using original parts for their coach - but it makes it look cheap, in my opinion. And I don't like the looks of the hatchback. It may be efficient, but their design looks terrible.

I agree compleatly, they are very cheap looking. Even the Cadillac ones look just as bad. I think Image needs some new people in there dizine department. Even the Federal's and the Krystal's look better than the Image ones. The Krystal Lincoln that John posted, its not bad looking at all. I think Image is taking to many short cuts to save money, and its efecting there dizine, and quality of there coaches.:my2cents:
