I bought this repair kit a year ago. about time I get it put in. this is off the 89 caprice wagon but the job is the same as both the caddies I had to do. getting it apart is the hard part. it put together with spring clips and crushed brass tubes. the only way to get the tubs out is to drill them and replace them with 1/4 20 bolts and nuts. this one broke going down the the antenna was puled back up. getting the stub up into the tube so you could not put it down. we now have a cover that fits so lets get it done. the fiber glass cord is so stiff the only way to get it on the spool is the lay it on the spindle with the line all the way out and wind it i place. it's like packing bearings. grease all over you. the carefully put the two haves back together and the clips in place. the test it. this one will now go up and down. getting it out took longer then rebuilding it and now we need to put it back in place. hint you do need to pull the inner fender out to get it
