What the guys on the Miller Meteor assembly line told me was that the chassis never match up to the cowl, since they were shipped separately to the MM factory. They just took the next chassis and matched it up to the next cowl in inventory.
My question is that if you own a 1969 Cadillac Commercial chassis vehicle made by any of the manufacturers, would you please check your cars dash serial number plate to see if the last six digits are... 277378
I am going to make the assumption that someone owns a 1969 Cadillac Commercial Chassis car that has this serial number, if the car still exists. There is a better chance that it is going to be a Miller Meteor vehicle, than one of the other brands, but I don't want to leave any of those cars out of the search.
When I get my car back, I intend to try to find the hidden frame serial number.
thanks Paul

mine was 268290 superior and the engine serial did not match that number. It was a 69 engine so I don't know if it was switched or came that way. 76 superior engine, transmission and vin match.

My VIN doesn't match the engine, and that is what started this quest. If you can post your engine number, the cowl that matches it might be found. I will bet that none of the 1969 engines match the cowl numbers. I will also bet that the engine number and the frame numbers will match.
thanks Paul

but were did they put the frame number in 69. it's not up on the frame horns like the 63 or the 66. one thing I did not know was that gm shipped the cowls separate not attached to any frame. but buy the truck load striped with no components on them. this was how they were able to mix and match accessory as people ordered cars. MM did not care about any GM numbers as they titled the car with there serial number. it's only later that the DMV mixed the GM numbers in the game.
