A beautiful evening for the 2014 EMS Foundation charity 5/10K run. The 75's Q started the race. Lots of interest about this aspect of pre hospital care history.

They should try that in Toronto ,there firing a starters pistol usually gets return fire.

Wayne: We tried a dry run with the 65 about an hour pre race, burned out the solenoid (?) and the darn siren would not run down. All I could think was "this will be an interesting drive home. How many members of the Calgary Police Service can I attract in a five mile drive"?

Technology moves on

One of the striking differences between 1965/1975 technology and today was the brightness of the warning lights on the neonatal unit compared to my two cars, and at a fraction of the energy requirements.

Your Rigs look AWESOME !!

Looks like we both had fun today with our rigs ?

Tim....... I know what you mean about the difference in lights today but I still perfer the old lights !!

bright is not always good. I still think they need a day /night switch on the leds. they need that bright a light in the day time but at night it's a real safety hazard.
warning lights that obscure the sean do no one any good. especially a walker out of the car.

Driving home last night from Plattsville there was police and ambulance on the side of the highway, when we got up to it it was so bright you could hardly look at it .....you had to turn away !
but with the becans I find them very soft and they cover 360 degrees. where as you need LED lights everywhere on the car or truck to be seen

new is not aways better !!!!

Pennsylvania State Police just changed light bars on the whole fleet first time since 1991 when Federal Vision ruled do not know the new type but it blinds at night TOO BRIGHT!!!! Particularly when viewed from the front rear not so bad. Many complaints locally.
