Daytona Flea Market Car Show

Held every 1st Saturday of the month. Much to my surprise and pleasure Terri decided to go and drove the Criterion. As we get to the grounds she is driving REALLY REALLY slow. I get parked then go over to her and she tells me about 1/2 a mile back she lost the brakes.

Turns out the mater cylinder blew and with her excellent driving skills managed to get it through a traffic light, a left turn, then into the flea market grounds without an incident. After the show I drove it to my mechanic and he replaced the master.

Nice job Ms. Terri!!!

Richard,
Glad to hear everyone is safe including the rig !!
You have a BRAVE little lady there !! and same goes for your wife !!!:yum:
Not to many ladies want to drive a ambulance let alone a "wounded" one....
You certainly should be proud !!
I think it is awesome when the ladies get involved,my wife airs up the tires, checks the oil in the 72 and can even change her own flats !!
and on top of it she likes doing it !!:thumb:

Pretty impressive! Im not sure most car guys would even know how to handle a situation like that in a safe and timely manner. Good on her for keeping cool, not panicking, and guiding what was essentially a 7,000 LB missile into a crowded fairgrounds with no mishaps. Impressive indeed!

Way to go. It is usually when ya panic, that something happens. At least one good thing you Florida folks have going for you, it's pretty much flat there--not like here in PA with all the hills. That makes brake failure alot more interesting. Been there, done that a few times. Glad the car or any people were injured. :)

I have drove cars many times with no brakes, sometimes 30 miles, and I can say she did the right thing by not panicing, thats the worst thing to do. Just remember a combo of downshifting, nutral, and the e brake will get you where you need to go if you are level headed.
Good job Terri for knowing how to handle an emergency, 99% of the people would not known what to do. :applause::applause::applause:

any woman that can hand Richard on a daily basis will have no difficulty handling a run away monster with no brakes. but get some paint on the master cylinder before it starts to rust in a week and you'll be better off. the two of you look way to relaxed and having a good time

CONGRATS TO TERRI !!! :thumb:

Now her and Digger have something in common and can talk about saving a procar when something nasty happens !

You have a mighty fine wife Richard !

Darren

A few pictures prior to the drive. If I can get enough cases I just might get that Criterion repainted. Had 7 last week and one yesterday. :specool:
