A on and off switch. Is yours no longer making contack or is it missing? You can clean a dirty one up by soaking it in evapo rust.

The plastic thingies are broken inside. It is no longer functional.

That's a technical term right?
They were fragile to say the least. I looked for one for my 1969 for over 2 years to no avail. Only chance might be if Kurt Arends might see one in a salvage yard in his travels.

That would be the plastic thingies that hold the whatchama call it tight to the do hicky. Know just what your saying
