Now here's legislation we can all get behind: The Senate has passed a resolution designating July 9 as Collector Car Appreciation Day across the land.
That's a Friday, meaning enthusiasts everywhere have a great excuse to drive to work in their favorite classic or vintage car--or to take the day off and simply drive. Or to wrench on that jalopy so one day, it will run again.
The resolution, passed in May, is meant to recognize the economic and cultural impact that collecting cars has on American society. It was the work of the Specialty Equipment Market Association, which puts on the SEMA show, and the Automotive Restoration Market Organization Council.
The resolution was the result of a nonpartisan, informal group called the Congressional Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus and was sponsored by Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.).

The U.S. Senate recently passed a resolution declaring July 9, 2010, “Collector Car Appreciation Day.”

On May 4, the United States Senate passed Senate Resolution 513 (S. Res. 513), which recognizes that the “collection and restoration of historic and classic cars is an important part of preserving the technological achievements and cultural heritage of the United States.” It also encourages commemorations to celebrate this heritage, and to educate young people on the role of the automobile in the history of the United States.

I'm sure many of you will agree that this is a great advancement for the collector car hobby, which of course, includes our professional cars. I am planning on driving a "collector car" on Friday as a way to participate, and hope that many of you can do the same.

At least in this case... my 1964 MM Ambulance will not jam the Xerox machine! HA!

I apprecate your passing this along!

I know what Paul bought also but I'll keep my trap shut too. I had to work today so I was driving the 07 Freightliner but did see lots of cool cars on the road today. I did manage to take the 71 Continental Mark III out for a drive tonight though. Gawd I love that car! (Ive owned it for 21 years now!)

I cant believe this many people know what Paul bought, I thought I was special in knowing, but I guess I can say I still feel good about helping him with some info he needed to make the purchase and in keeping this car in the PCS.
Believe me, if I could have come up with the money it would be in My garage!

John........ you are special, :thumb: because you were the first person that I told. I thank you for all your help and assistance. There is no doubt that it is a :specool: car, and it is everything that you described, and more. :thumb:
Thanks Paul

YOu kind of had to tell me first, since I was the one that gave you all the contact info on it to begin with. I would not have given it to anyone, I wanted to make sure the car stayed in the PCS with someone that would appriciate it.

I knew you would be happy with this beautiful car once you saw it in person!
