Hey y’all,
This is on my 1991 5.7L brougham based hearse. I’m new to automotive electronic troubleshooting, so every chance in the world I did this wrong. I followed the tree to the best of my reckoning to the conclusion that CKT 423 is shorted to ground. If I understand right, that means the white wire is grounded out somewhere?
My second question is on step four, “Disconnect dist. 4-way connector.” My best guess is that that is the only other connector plugged in under the distributor cap, but it only has two wires. I’m pretty sure I went off the rails here, but the wire colors match the labeling in the diagram. I did all the multimeter and test light tests on the connector pictured and labeled as the “Distributor 4 Terminal Connector.”
I’ll be more than happy to hear if/where I went wrong.
Thanks!
