A funeral home is interested in using my 96 flower car for a service. It is registered as a commercial vehicle so it can still be used as a commercial vehicle but my insurance is non commercial . Is it possible for them to get insurance it ? It would have to cover them and course me from any liability any ideas ? Thanks

i would explain the insurance situation to them and see if they can get a certificate of coverage for the time frame they want to hire the car. if they cant, tell them its a no go

I use American Family Ins. They will allow me to purchase insurance on a car for as little or as long as I wish. I insured a truck that I borrowed from a friend last Fall. I would have the Funeral Home sign a contract that states that they assume all liability for any accidents and require them to insure the vehicle for the time that they are using it.
The family must want a flower car for their loved one...I hope it works out...the advice to contact your insurance company for guidance is sound...I would do the same. I hope you are able to help.

The funeral home should be able to get coverage from their insurance, and get you a Certificate of Insurance for it. It only has to be for the day/days they are using it. (I do the same thing when I rent my ambulances out for movies.)

Up here I would tell the Funeral Home to call THEIR Insurance Company NOT YOURS ! they are the ones renting it are you driving it or them ?? If i were you......I would drive it and have someone from the FH in the passenger seat

just get something in writing from the FH your Insurance Company doesn't need to know
