chapter membership?

ok question, im in texas and theres not a chapter here so if i joined a chapter would i really ever get any benefit from joining a chapter as it would be a 2-3000 mile round trip for me to just go to a weekend event. please nobody take this the wrong way as im just asking a question. if i did i would probaly join with richard down in florisa. [more kissing up, you figure it out] unless? just general discussion..

Hey it's encouraging to see members wanting to get more involved. I would say start your own chapter for Texas. It's a big place so you should be able to get it going needing only 5 members to charter it.

It is rewarding. Between me and Bill Wright we got the Florida Chapter going again and having a ball. I'm not as forward as I used to be but we are a strong chapter even to the point the PCS Meet committee felt confortable enough to allow us to host the 2012 meet.

Good luck Kyle....

I agree with the idea of starting your own chapter. Contact your local folks and arrange a meet there and see if they participate.

There is benefit from joining other chapters - many have very informative newsletters that are worth the price of membership. So even if you can't attend their meets, there's still a benefit.

Starting a PCS Chapter

Kyle,

Someone in the Society clued me in today that you might be interested in starting a Chapter in Texas, so I spent a few minutes tracking down your April post.

My bad for not seeing it sooner. I should get on the Website more often and read more closely.

There is a PCS Chapter Relations Committee which specifically lends a helping hand to those PCS members who are thinking about starting a Chapter. If you would give me your address, I would be happy to mail you a package which will lead you through the process. If you're willing to give me your phone number, that would be useful, too.

After you receive your package, if you have any questions, please contact me. The completed paperwork should be sent to:

Bee Hamlin, Chair
PCS Chapter Relations Committee
PO Box 123
Fulton MD 20759
send me a post or email me at gbhamlin@juno.com
or call 301 604 7374 (EDT)

If you're planning on coming to Daytona, so much the better. Please let me know. I'll be there, so I can bring the package with me and hand to you. You could review the package while there and I can answer any questions in person.

Bee
