Centre Console

Last summer when I had the chance to harvest parts from American Ambulance's 76 Cadillac, I was able to remove its centre console. It was in about the same shape as Terry's. http://www.professionalcarsociety.org/forums/showthread.php?t=11759&highlight=Console

I got it back from the sandblasting shop clean and primed. What I was thinking about doing ( besides moving the siren from under the dash to the consol ) isnto move the Cool Hersee battery switch on the passenger side of the console, same as it was on the 76 and install two pilot lights under the siren and beside the amp gauge that would indicate which battery is on because the driver can not see the battery switch being on the other side of the console.

Any thoughts or ideas? Does anyone have any pics of their centre consol set-up?

My 72 has the same console with the 20 and the amp gauge...

My Cole-Hersee is mounted on the passanger side and I just get in the habit of swaying to my right and look at where the indicator on the switch is pointing to(#1,#2 or both).....I usualy leave my switch on "both".....but the indicator lights are a good idea......

A little cleaning and fresh coat of paint goes a long way
