got to tearing into this 69 MM yesterday just because the guy wants it back. took center door window regulator out and was holding it in my hand . the more I looked at the the more it looked familiar. they used the same regulator in the MM as superior did. now to find out what station wagon they robed it from. it has to be a back door wagon lift.

You're right. I had one out of my 67 a few weeks ago and it looked exactly like that.

Does anyone knows if there were any ambulances with power windows in the back?

They were never coach builder specific.

It's my understanding that these procar window regulators stayed the same for a multi-year period. '61 Superior that I pulled last year were identical. '71 and up coach regulators themselves are likewise the same, although the armature may be different length. I've never had opportunity to match up pre and post '71 side by side firsthand to check widths.

It has been proposed that the window regulator mechanisms stem from Series 75 limos although they had different width rear doors. I have no reason to doubt this tidbit. As far as hailing from a station wagon, definitely not side doors anyway. Those were entirely different. I've seen many '71-'76 GM wagons dismantled through a derby friend.

Window regulators are like spark plugs... They all look alike, but function differently depending on the application. Only way to compare is to get arm length measurements from roller to roller and roller to pivot point. Then you have a chance of getting an accurate possibility of it being the same as something else.

it most definitely a rear door (tailgate) regulator. it's set to screw in so that the handle goes to the out side. check the bevel on the screw holes. they put them in the pro cars backwards with a 1/4 20 nut and bolt. what ever works for the cause. I'm thinking they are wagoneer. but like Paul said you would have to have them in hand to see. but this one looks just like the ones in the 63 superior to me.
