Carnation Festival

Had a FANTASTIC time at the Carnation Festival in Alliance, OH today. My new limo made its first interstate drive (around 2 hours) today, ran and drove wonderfully.

Members from the Ohio Chapter and the Tri-State Chapter in attendance were: Ron and Barb Devies, Wayne and Eileen Shoenecker, Francis and Mary Marasco, Jim Russell, Me, Mark and Debbie Teague, Mark Kennedy and Chris Indovina, and Dan Skivolocke.

Cars present were: 1964 M&M Cadillac Combination, 1959 Superior Cadillac Crown ambulance, pre-civil war Horse Drawn hearse, 1959 Superior Cadillac hearse, and a 1968 Cadillac Fleetwood 75.

It was a great setting on the grounds of Glamorgan Castle. Many thanks to Sharer Funeral home for being a major sponsor--thanks Dan!

Here are some pics..

WTF!? Apparently I was itching the side of my nose but it looks like I am buried to the brain! Great photography Shawn, actually though I do like the shot of my 64 the way the clouds reflect off the roof.

I am laughing so hard.......too funny. Thanks, the picture did turn out really nice. It was nice spending the day with all of you guys.

I was so busy defending my finger that I forgot to mention Shawn's car looks as good if not better in person. He really ended up with a stunning car.

"NO PICK...!"

"If we pick...do we not bleed!":rofl1:

Sorry my work schedule kept me from being there! Glad you all had a great day!

Rick

Shawn,

Thanks for sharing these photos. Nothing better than a beautiful assortment of cars and seeing their owners having a nice, relaxing time. The castle would make a great backdrop for photographing your '68. Being partial to 1968 Cadillacs, I look forward to seeing your car in person!

Now, on to Ron:

Ron, Ron, Ron... Did we not learn anything about proper vehicle display after the suction cup incident?? Here you have another gorgeous Miller-Meteor combination...a car you've spent hours detailing for show...and then you go and pull a stunt like placing the Convert-A-Floor panels incorrectly. The handles should be facing inward, toward each other, not all in the same direction.

Sheesh...have we taught you nothing? :3_7_11v:

Funny you should say that, when you drove in, they had you stop in front of the castle and took your picture. You could have a T-shirt made with the pic, a license plate, clock, just about anything you wanted and they had them ready in about an hour. Pretty cool. I got the license plate, but it won't go on the car. I have it hanging on the garage wall at the moment.

More from the cancelled Carnation Meet

For a meet that was officially cancelled we sure had a big turnout. Yesterday Mark and Debbie were back, along with Dan, Jerry came down and we sent two cars. We spent the better part of the day at the pump in, then the kick off parade, before travelling to Doug's Classic 57 for the Annual Carnation Cruise where everybody (but Dan) got their 2010 Commemorative mug. There is video of the parade but I need to get technical assistance in uploading it.
Yesterdays cars were, Teagues 59 Superior hearse, Skivolocke's 59 Superior ambulance, Jerry's 82 Superior Sovereign Combination. I went in a different direction with my 76 Miller Meteor combination and my one of only three in the country, 1970 Pinner Coach :893USA-Smilie-thumb

First let me say thanks for sharing the photos. They are awesome. It looked like a nice spot and good weather. Ron, the 64 looks sweet, and it's your nose, pick it if you want!

Rick and I had such a great time time there last year, I'm sorry we missed it. Great pictures, Shawn. Looks like everyone had a lot of fun.. Has anyone checked under Ron's seat for evidence?:halo:

Wow was that one of the three remaining Pinners? Thanks Tony for posting that.:893USA-Smilie-thumb
