Blast from the Past

Tom Hoczyk

PCS Past President
Who remembers when Bob & Bonnie Dombrowski brought their 1956 Eureka during the late Saturday afternoon of Decatur IL PCS 1988? (I think it was 1988). There were rain showers, but people came out of the woodwork to see it.

No, don't remember Tom. Actually didn't know pcs exsisted back then. Wasn't till 1996 or so I found you guys but for years thought surely there were more people like me out there with love of these old cars. Saw write up in funeral directors magazine at funeral home where I worked.:071:

I remember that car's arrival vividly. Was my first PCS meet; my dad and I attended it together in 1988. Wonderful meet, beautiful car (which was among a handful of cars that were invited inside to the banquet that year!)

I believe I see Terry Lange in that photo. Thanks for sharing, Tom.

Wasn't that the same meet where the Reeb 1973 Superior 54" hightop made an appearance and was photographed?

This '56 Eureka did service at Ott-Haverstock Funeral Home in Michigan city IN, and their next coach was a '67 S&S Victoria 3-Way now owned by Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Columbia City IN. Both terrific cars. I've driven the '56 Eureka several times since its appearance in Decatur, most memorably at the PCS Meet in Marietta OH. I also have a fair number of miles on Smith's '67. I'm thrilled to have my '54 Eureka, though, and having the electric side servicing option is pretty neat.

Tom I have always loved your 54 as well. Do you have any pics of the 67 S&S?
