Before and after.

Brady D Smith

PCS Life Member / PCS Past President
At the suggestion of Paul Steinberg, I am posting a couple of before and after photos of my little Lifeliner. As I do this I am amazed by the fact that the white top of the car was restored by wet sanding and wheeling with only two very minor gelcoat repairs at the top of the "A" pillars. The rest is the original M-M fiberglass gelcoat.

Looks good, Brady! "Spring, and a man's thoughts turn to......ambulances!?" Of course, for any dedicated PCS'er! I love the plain twin spots-those spotlight/red flasher things just don't seem to age well.

I really like his 184's up there. Brady was like Ed in trying to explain how to mount and level them properly. You do this, then triangle that, then compass over there, line of sight here, oh gezzz.

In Albany class will be held on "Mounting 184's 101" conducted by Ed in parking "B". Be sure to sign up.

not just me Scott is bring his dremel and a few other people have decided to chime in and help to. it's like roofing the more people you got doing it the more they cover up each others mistakes.

That's actually a great idea. It could also be videotaped for future reference. I don't know how anyone could understand how to trim a light base by just reading instructions without seeing it.

Other "classes" would be a good idea as well, like how to wire up a siren. I've seen some pretty scary stuff done in that regard. People don't understand how much jeopardy they may be putting themselves or their vehicle in by undertaking such a seemingly simple task with no prior knowledge. If it hasn't been done by the Ohio National meet sign me up to teach that one.

Albany's classes

OK, so now we have two classes for Albany; siren 101 and lights 101. :071: I like it!:applause: Are there any others I should fit into the schedule?:17875:

"How a relay/solenoid works" would be a good one, especially for the ambulance guys. They're actually quite simple, but the first time I used one it took me a little while to wrap my head around it. Turns out I was actually thinking too hard and the smoke coming out of my ears was getting into my eyes...

How about this one. We'll can do a "OVERHAULIN" and totally restore a Criterion in just 4 days. Ed will lead and gather others for the manual labor. I will volunteer my Criterion for the project.:wowguy:

Seriously, I do think this could be a neat addition to the PCS meet holding classes on how this stuff works. :my2cents:
