Bad day yesterday - no Albany for me...

So the weather has been real nice here, went to pick up the ambulance from being painted and take it for a spin. I was cruising through the neighborhood, I come around the corner and there is a little kid right in the middle of the street that had fallen off his bike. Long story short, I over-corrected to miss him and a couple somersaults later I'm looking at my neighbors house sideways through where the windshield used to be.

Everyone was ok, aside from a few scrapes and bruises, but I don't think it's going to just buff out. I can't imagine things being fixed in time for Albany, but I will either drive it or drag what's left of the carcass to the Ohio meet in 2011. Still need to see what insurance will do. Amazingly it still starts up.

Sorry about the grainy cell-phone pic:

Be careful out there, and keep looking through the turns.

Good "April Fool's" joke there Todd. :4_11_9:

Man Richard, I worked for 2 hours editing that photo to make it at least semi-believeable and concocting a story, and you shot me down in four minutes...

I've been planning this for a couple weeks, ever since I came across these slides that my Grandfather took in 1957 of a GMC Panel Truck that wrecked in someones yard. See if you can spot the differences in the first one:

License plate is different and Todd, I expected someone to play a little April Fool's joke today. Plus Todd, that kid dressed like that was not from this century. Nice try and love the pcitures.
Sorry dude!!!

Oh well, glad you and your ambulance are both OK. Guess that's one van that never lived to be an "antique".

Never believe everything you hear on April Fool's Day! ;)

almost

Todd,
I was just about to write a condolence letter. The kid in the picture kept getting my attention. Where is the baggy pants and tee shirt? So I thought I would read what other people had posted here. Richard was quick to break your bubble.
The pictue of the GMC was very dark and I could not beleive you had it painted a darker color.
You will be placed on the 'watch list' for April of 2011.
Wonder where the Packard and the kid's bicycle are these days?

I also put a side "window" in so it would look less like a panel truck, and lost the car in the background. I figured someone would call me on the lack of lights, but I figured the repaint story would cover that.

When you get the insurance check, please consider joining the Professiional Car Society and becoming a Site Supporter... :1:

Great way to start the day there Todd. My restaurant manager called me just after the restaurant closed screaming a pipe broke in the kitchen and was flooding everything. I screamed to get maintenance and as I came back on the phone to tell her I was on my way, she starts laughing and says, "April Fool's Day". I told her she was fired!!!! :soapbox:

I heard that she told you that she couldn't be fired, because she quit... Something about working for you was her reason... :4_11_9:
