Back In Service

Ron Devies

PCS Ohio Chapter President PCS Past Vice President
So this morning I was sitting on my back patio drinking coffee getting ready for my 30 minute walk. Last evening I had been to a cruise in with the fat girl and instead of taking it back to the barn where I store it I brought it home as I have another cruise in tonight. So I am sitting there finishing my coffee when all of a sudden I hear BAM! I go running around to the front of my house to find a 90 year old motorcyclist got T-Boned in the intersection in front of my house. After quickly assessing ABCs, I told the neighbor to call 911 and sprinted to the back drive and retrieved the fat girl. I pulled up into the intersection with all lights flashing and jumped out with my Plano 747M trauma box and started treating this guy. Fortunately he was wearing his helmet but he sustained a laceration to his left hand and a compoud fracture to his left tib/fib. By the time my cops and the FD arrived, I had him bandaged, c-collared and was checking for distal pulses at the fracture site. The fire department even replaced my supplies. When you have an ambulance it is great having it stocked because ya never know when.............................. All the neighbors got a kick out of it and the victim was very grateful for the quick response time.

Ron did it feel like the good old days again, good you where there, thanks:applause:

It did! I am just now coming down off the adrenalin rush. I found myself peeking up from patient care to steal a peak of that proud old beauty sitting there with all of her lights flashing. I hope my officers got some pictures of it sitting in the background. If they did I will share.

no careful desk jockeys should not run races. :D but it is nice knowing what not to do and what to do. when it happens in front of you. sure beats standing by wringing your hands.

Here is a picture of the scene.

What in the world is a 90 yr old doing riding a motorcycle..... Typical Ron, always in the right place at the right time. Glad he wasn't too badly hurt.

If you got to go might as will go out doing what you like. Bet he was heading for Stuges. That is starting this weekend. With you having packaged him up all ready all they needed to do was load any go. Tubby looks like she is still in service.
