axle info wanted

Ok guys and gals, I am in need of your expert or other advice here. I am looking for the axle weights for front and rear axles on a 1962 Eureka hearse. This is on a Cadillac chassis. In my 61 shop manual I found axle length, ratios, lube requirements and more. But the axle weight is yet to be found. I have been corresponding with a guy from Austria trying to help him with Cadillac and what hearse info I have or know. Any suggestions on where to find or how to figure out the needed info on the axles will be appreciated by both of us. I guess this is one of the questions they ask when you try to get your car on the road in Austria.
Post it here on site or pm me.
Thanks for your help,
Mike

so do we want to know how much the car weights on each Axel or how much it can carry on each Axel. all I know is the 72 CB was rated at 5300 front 5400 rear. the tag should be on the door. I'll go look. heck I got a 63 now.

OK no tag on a superior. but the shop book for is says the front springs are rated at 3300 each or 6600 for the front Axel and the rear leaves are rated at 2120 each or 4240 for the rear. strange thought the rear was heaver. the curb weight is stated at front 2850 and rear 3200. add 130 to the front if it has ac.

I weighed my 59 Eureka once in the 70's after listening to Bob Hedges gripe about rear axle bearing failures. It came out to 6,500 lbs empty but I dont remember the front/rear weights.

Check your local phone book for a truck scale. It doesn't have to be expensive. Your car should have weights comparable to the Eureka.

thanks to all

Thanks to all for your responses. I have forwarded the info to Martin in Austria. He appreciates the help of the PCS members.
His 62 Eureka was in a museum for many years.
Mike
