Awakening

While some of you were having fun in Piqua, I managed to get some car projects done. My '65 Superior combination hadn't been out in a few years due to a gas tank issue (see post in Technical forum) but I finally got that repaired, battery charged/replaced/charged and got her started up! The '69 M-M needed to get out first-it hadn't been out in a couple of months, so that doesn't qualify as an "awakening"! Both cars started up quite easily with a little gas poured down the carbs. It was especially nice to get the '65 going again. Her brakes are a bit mushy-I filled the master cylinder before starting. I'll have to check to see if the power booster has gone bad or (hopefully) it's just a matter of air in the lines. There was enough brake for a short spin around the neighborhood. Surprisingly little smoke after such a hibernation, too!:17875:

Oh man Doc, I really like those cars, I am partial to the light blue color, Danny Ryder's cars and yours just scream ambulance in that color. I think a lot of homes that ran ambulance used that color especially if their competition was already using white. Silver was another popular option. I like that garage too, I have the same siding on the walls of mine but yours looks a bit bigger. I have been looking for a bigger garage.

I'm on the Blue Team also!

Danny Ryder will tell you how much I drooled over his '70 Classic last weekend. When I was a kid, our coaches were light blue, so I'm very partial to that color. Seeing cars like John's, Danny's, and a couple cars owned by a friend of mine in Illinois, make me feel fortunate that I have a couple cars needing paint...

John, beautiful cars, do you have anymore pics of them you can share with us? That light blue is my favorite color on a Pro Car. I'm sure Danny can tell you that I am in love with his car, and the color too.

Josh

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Danny and my two cars are different shades of blue. My '65 is sporting her original "Hampton Blue" paint. I haven't researched to see if that was a '65 Cadillac color or not. The '69 is "#24 blue" according to the M-M plate. That color was popular in Alabama and Mississippi, according to Jim Thompson who sold me that car years ago. He had it repainted the original color. By the way, was that his gray '65 M-M in Piqua? He had a car like that when I bought the '69, though it was solid gray at the time. I remember it had a beautiful gray and white interior and a B&M S-8B under the hood!

Tony did you get the photos I emailed you? I've sent you a couple of emails and a pm but no response. You could do something really different and paint your Lifeliner and/or your '68 ambulance a solid silver blue! Here's a better shot of the '65 hind quarter....

Omg!

Was the Thompson car in Piqua? Was it ever, there was a lot of nice cars there in Piqua but the definite show stealers were Bill Peoples car and the Thompson car. This was a hard thing to do especially seeing that all the cars had a special draw, Mike and Darren's cars were one year apart, same color, similar curtains and all. Brady had a rare last of the Mohican lifeliners. Danny with that awesome blue, Todd has that mint Suburban, I had the M-M suction cup option but when the Thompson car rolled in part of the crowd around Bills car shifted a little.

It looked a little like this...

Damn. Jeremy was telling me about that car friday night. Words can not describe how beautiful that thing is. I would love to see a pic or 2 of the interior, did anyone happen to get any pics of that?
