Issaquah April Show

Rick,

Just read the info on your upcoming April event in Issaquah. I will include it in the "PCIN" column, which I'm in the process of preparing for the next TPC. That way, all PCS members will have the opportunity to read and know about it. Sounds like a fun event--too bad it's not 2,500 miles closer or I'd be there!

Great, Bee. Thank you, if you need more info, let me know

Laura and I will be there, Rick. Looking forward to it. It will be our first ProCar meet.

Not sure if the Criterion will be ready or not but at least we'll bring the '68 Superior ambulance.

We are working on getting a special rate at a local hotel. Should have more info next week. If anyone is coming down the day before, perhaps we can arrange a pizza party or something. This is a low key event; we dont care if your vehicle is less than perfect. All trophy selections are done by peoples choice. Most of the shows at the Triple X during the show season are jam packed with street rods and muscle cars; this one brings out something different and the staff at the "X" love this show. And all the automobilia hanging on the walls insideis quite the sight! We are hoping to have AMR bring their 67-68 Cadillac Ambulance and the LeMay Collection to bring their 66 Cadillac. The guys from EVOOA always bring a great assortment of Police Cars and the Last Resort Fire Dept guys bring an awesome group of vintage Fire Trucks. AND........we have a sound and light show midway through the day!

Anyone else coming? Its less than a month away!!!!! Police cars, Ambulances, Pro-Cars, Fire Trucks, Tow TRucks, Search & Rescue Jeeps, Classic Cars, Maybe even a restored 1950s City Transit Bus! OH MY!. Great Food and Burgers, this is something you dont wanna miss!...

And wait, theres more!

Received a phone call today from a Sgt First Class in the Wasington State Army National Guard informing me that he received instructions from his Brigadier General to bring one of their Humvees to the show. He said its not everyday that he gets a call from the "general" I told him it pays to have friends in high places. So tonight, I calld the general at home to thank him. (We are old college fraternity buddies)I had sent to him at his office one of our advertising flyers. He said it was pretty funny when his secratary was going through the mail and saw it. She exclaimed "WHY are WE getting THIS in the mail?" He asked what was it and she says "Its for a CAR SHOW!" Bret immediately started laughing and said "That has got to be from Rick!"

Spent today doing in person PR work fork the show. Stopped by local auto repair shop where i recently saw a 48 Buick Flxible Ambulance and it turns out it belongs to the owner. He said he will bring a couple of cars and will tell one of his customers who recently bought a red 68 Caddy hearse. I then stopped by several local tow companies to invite them and made stops at the Police Dept and Fire Dept of the city where the show is being held. Also left flyers at the host hotel and with the local HQ of the Washington State Patrol. Lastly, i also left flyers with the citys Public Information Officer (who happens to be married to my cousin). Unfortunately though, AMR will NOT be able to bring their 68 Caddy Ambulance as its in for a restoration and wont be completed in time but they may possibly bring an in service rig. Also, the LeMay Museum cancelled out due to "insurance restrictions".

Four More Days!

As long as Mother Nature is nice to us, we are on track to having our largest show ever. The last tally from the responses I have gotten is 41 entries and climbing. So far, we have 14 Professional Cars, 17 Police Cars, 6 Fire Trucks, 3 Tow Trucks (Antiques, from the 1920s & 30s) , a National Guard Humvee, A city Transit Bus, A County Search & Rescue Rig, and several general interest collectible vehicles. Im still hoping that SOMEONE brings a passenger car based ambulance.....theres rumors that possibly 2 may come but im not sure. If at least ONE shows up, they are guaranteed to win the trophy!. The guys from EVOOA have been awesome in helping to promote this event. I really encourage any chapter to put on joint meets with EVOOA and other similar clubs; its a win win situation for everyone in the hobby!
