I was going through the paperwork from my car tonight and discovered that a Francis Potts had the A/C serviced in 1960 for the "Ambulance/hearse" in town there. I'd like to know if anyone is from around there or knows this person. I'm hoping there are some pics that still exist! Anyone that could help with this would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I don't live close to Independance, but I know there is a Potts Funeral Home there. That place may be owned by a chain now, but I am sure there is still Potts family still living there. Phone # is (620) 331-5600. Also look up their website through the Kansas Funeral Directors Association.

I actually grew up in Parsons, KS, 25 miles east of Independence, near the Missouri/Oklahoma border. Potts was a long time funeral home there but is now owned by Corp. I'll tell you who would absolutely be the ultimate historian about southeast Kansas funeral homes would be my old boss and good friend, Gary Wall, of the Wall Funeral Homes. 316-421-2280, www.wallfuneralservices.com. I will have to give Gary a call. I've been in touch with the director of Potts, but everytime I call I get the "I'm waiting for the guy who'd be able to help to come back from ..." I actually have some pictures of the car from the early 90s that I'll eventually get around to posting.
