Here are two photos of my 1975 54XL in it's "previous" life. Anyone have any clues on its history? Thanks. Jim

it would appear to be someones attempt to make a criterion type rig out of 54XL
but no I have not seen it or one like it before
The Superior 54XL was Superior's answer to the M-M Criterion. Like the Criterion, the 54XL had wall cabinets and blank (non-window) sides. It's not "someone's attempt", it was a Superior model that they built.

Here's an example:

Gee, I know this car. Engine bay is taken apart right now as cracked exhaust manifold had to be replaced, which became a big job. Upper body will get a repaint through the winter and be ready for Spring.

It was also Superior's attempt to continue using a Cadillac-based automobile yet to still comply to all of the new, strict ambulance codes.

I have some video I took while Community Ambulance was still there of an ambulance they were selling in the 90s. If it's of any interest- I could upload it to youtube or something.
