after running the 67 around for some time and changing the oil twice in 100 miles I giving up on the weak cylinder freeing up. so it's pop the head off pull that one piston, hone it out and re ring it. the best one is 150 pounds the rest are within 15 pounds of that. the dead one has 30. comes up to 150 if you squirt oil into it. so assuming someone has been in there as it was painted the corp blue they hopefully screwed on one piston. they parked it for a reason. as I have often said find that reason fix it and you got a good car

so does anyone have a standard ring set for a 429 ? one piston is all I need. new set is 85 bucks but no idea what to do with the other 7. just hoping someone else has a partial set they want to get rid of.

Soak that bad cylinder with some kerosene, mixed with a little ATF, and the stuck ring might come loose. You could also just spray some carburetor cleaner into the cylinder, and let it soak for a few days. Before you start the engine, then spray some oil into the cylinder to lube up the cylinder walls. That will be the faster way to unstick a stuck ring. I used to fill up the cylinders with lacquer thinner, and then follow up with some ATF in the cylinders. Worked most of the time.
