Anywhere rugged terrain factors in. This monkey can use Google.
After a woman fell 30' and broke bones in Austin's Greenbelt, even saw a stokes basket with one large all terrain wheel attached retrieving her like this one.
In 11 years of ambulance work.I can remember using a stokes 2 times.....once in San Francisco, when we had a "jumper" from the Golden Gate and the other time when we had a farm worker lodged in a spillway to the California aquaduct (aquaduct is like a small river runs from northern Cal to southern Cal) after he had one to many .....
But I really like the last photo....GREAT re-purposing !!!
The Coast Guard uses them regularly, and land based services seldom, but it is one of those devices that there is no substitute for when you need it. This is where experience counts, knowing how and when to use it.
