Another One Saved!

As a few of the friends here already know, I recently purchased my first pro-car. The 1968 Miller-Meteor Cadillac Classic 48" Ambulance was saved from a life of service as a modified "Tailgaiting Car."

Unfortunately, the interior has been modified a little bit, and it sports a rather unique purple and white color scheme! On the positive side, it is an extremly sound vehicle with a very decent drive train. This is something welcomed in a climate where we both detest, and rely upon the use of road salt..... So, it may be strange looking for now, but it is a solid fine running car.

I have already started the journey to returning it to its glory when it was in service at the Williston Community Ambulance Service in Williston, North Dakota. It was a pleasure to locate some of the original paperwork from Miller-Meteor and the original ND Temporary Registration in one of the rear compartments. If all goes well, significant progress on the restoration should take place over the Winter.

It has truly been a pleasure meeting, and corresponding with various members of the PCS and others who frequent this site. Thank you to all those who have helped to date and to those whom I am sure will offer assistance in the future. As time progresses, I will be searching for parts to restore the interior and for an elusive set of four M-M Full-Vue lights to replace the original ones that were removed at some point.

Congratulations!

Todd,

This is great news that another professional car has been saved, especially one - by the way it sounds - that was on the brink of no return. I'm eager to see photos of your rig; I have a '68 M-M Cadillac Classic 48 that came out of Idaho earlier this year.

I'm also especially interested in cars that came from the upper midwest. I know the gentleman, who lives here in Minnesota, who has the 1964 Miller-Meteor Cadillac Classic 42 ambulance that came from Williston, ND.

Feel free to email me at kars971@aol.com and we can compare notes about our "sister" '68s.

Congratulations on your purchase! I also purchased my first pro-car this year and like yours, it is a '68. I am sure everyone here will be most helpful in your endeavor to restore your car back to it's original glory. Good luck to you and again congratulations!

It took a little tweaking, but here finally, are a few pictures of the car shortly after it arrived in Upsate, NY from it last home in North Carolina.

Thanks to Paul for his help with solving my picture posting problem. As always, he is the best!

Congrats Todd, looks like you found one in pretty good shape to start with! Gotta love that front end... '68 had the meanest looking front clip ever. Looking foreward to your progress shots, it may have some mods inside but count your blessings the car survived as well as it did. What a sharp M-M!
:applause:

Welcome

Welcome Todd and great job in saving another procar. Enjoy the work ahead of you. I agree with Dwayne...the '68 Cadi has one of the best looking front ends made.
