As a few of the friends here already know, I recently purchased my first pro-car. The 1968 Miller-Meteor Cadillac Classic 48" Ambulance was saved from a life of service as a modified "Tailgaiting Car."
Unfortunately, the interior has been modified a little bit, and it sports a rather unique purple and white color scheme! On the positive side, it is an extremly sound vehicle with a very decent drive train. This is something welcomed in a climate where we both detest, and rely upon the use of road salt..... So, it may be strange looking for now, but it is a solid fine running car.
I have already started the journey to returning it to its glory when it was in service at the Williston Community Ambulance Service in Williston, North Dakota. It was a pleasure to locate some of the original paperwork from Miller-Meteor and the original ND Temporary Registration in one of the rear compartments. If all goes well, significant progress on the restoration should take place over the Winter.
It has truly been a pleasure meeting, and corresponding with various members of the PCS and others who frequent this site. Thank you to all those who have helped to date and to those whom I am sure will offer assistance in the future. As time progresses, I will be searching for parts to restore the interior and for an elusive set of four M-M Full-Vue lights to replace the original ones that were removed at some point.
