Ambulance wiring diagrams ?

Does anyone have any wiring diagrams for ambulance specific applications ?
My 56 Superior looked like it had been wired by some ubangy tribesmen.
Cheers,Pat

I doubt that the Superior workers that wired the car would appreciate that remark. Most times, it is faster and more feasible to just remove all the wiring and start over again. Lacking that, then just get out your test light, and start trying to figure it out. You didn't say if it was the original factory wiring, or the wiring that Superior added. If it is the factory wiring that has been hacked, then there are suppliers of reproduction wire harness's for your car. If it is the Superior side of the coach, then it will be a learning experience to deciphering what went where, and how it got there. I suggest using a stand alone 12 volt battery clipped to the wire and the car ground, and then testing with a probe till you find the wire in question. I believe that your car has cloth covered lacquered wiring from the Cadillac factory, so tracing it by colors isn't easy. Usually, they all look the same...

I have a complete wiring diagram for a 1957 Superior that is even color coded. I don't know if it the same...but as far as the original chassis wiring it should be. Maybe it will help some at the least.

yes the superior challenge. fun fun fun. think simple don't think normal. especially the ambulance. I will give you a hint some things need the key on some don't. some go threw the master some don't. no rime or reason why. some things go threw the attendants panel by the jump seat. some things go threw both. then there are the things that work off the door switches. the back loading door lights are one. they are wired threw the headlight switch. if the taillights are one the load light works. maybe.
then some things are wired to only one switch and sometimes there are multi things on one switch. some have two switches that work them. but only when each switch is in a prober position. there is no wiring digram I think each cars was wired different on the assembly floor. a low amp charger and a ice pick work also instead of the battery. test each bulb first then test the socket. you can start there work your way back threw the switches to the fuse panel. once you get the car your working on figured out your good to go. piece of cake. a little dry, no icing, but cake none the less
