It's a stair chair. We used them everyday to get people doen the stairs and on to the stretcher. It is almost a double of the kinds we used. It looks to be a 1960's model.

Yep used them all the time, easier than the longer green ones that double as a cot, easy to store too

That stair chair appears to be a Ferno model#40.

I'm thinking it's older then a 40. what I can't see is if it folds up or is fixed with the spacers on the legs. or it fold up. with the weight on it keeping it from doing so. but if that the case picking up the front would pinch the pt in the center. ferno made adjustment in the equipment as the went along so it could be a early 40.
