All I can say is.... WOW!

Tom Hoczyk

PCS Past President
Marlene and I are still in Flint, and I write while having coffee at the Hampton. Yesterday was such a spectacular day here, even though it was very cold, low 30's at best, the day was sunny and the old feeling of friendship and sharing was in the air at Brady & Janet Smith's spectacular garage.

It was terrific catching up with old friends, and getting better acquainted with the people behind many of the familiar names who post on the board. Of course, having Walt McCall and Tom McPherson join us was terrific, and to have Bill Hess as a special guest put the icing on the cake. Tom began the guest presentation with a Power Point show about the overall history of S&S, and Bill Hess followed with his personal experiences working with his father Willard at the factory in Rossmoyne, as a younger man. I've mentioned before that Marlene and I had the great fortune to meet Willard Hess only 2 months before he died, and of course I'm glad I have a photo to document that meeting at his home in Cincinnati.

I want to thank Brady and Janet for their hospitality, Kim McDonald for keeping on top of the various activities that were happening, and to Sarah Snook's husband (sorry, can't remember his first name) for being the multi-media guru during the presentations. And of course, thanks to all who traveled from near and far to attend. We had a GREAT time!

(I tried to attach a photo with Bill Hess, but the file size was too big. oh well!)

Complete agreement!

I'd like to second the sentiments expressed by Tom - outside of an actual PCS International Meet, the 2011 Michigan Chapter Micro Meet was an excellent way to use up 2 weeks of vacation time! The fellowship is just as great and the stress level is much lower (due to the lack of a 1:1 scale model to wash) than an International Meet.
However, of all the pictures I posted on FLickr, the highest view count is still Kevin's '72 S&S and Brady's '77...
