A Springlike day comes to Bippus Indiana

Tom Hoczyk

PCS Past President
Saturday was a sunny day in northern Indiana, temperatures hitting almost 60. I had been waiting for several months for the snow to clear and the salt on the roads to wash away. With this, it was time to take a couple cars out. I drove the '39 Eureka LaSalle about 5 miles out into the country. This was literally the maiden run for the rebuilt engine, and it drove GREAT. I anticipate no problems driving it to Columbus for Cadillac/LaSalle.

The repainted '60 Eureka also came out, and I was able to take it for a spin for the first time in almost 2 years. Once I get all the chrome reinstalled, this is the car we plan to bring to PCS Hudson. We're registered, and looking forward to seeing everyone. (Yes, I know the 2000 Concorde in the picture is NOT a procar.)

Looking good Tom! Can't wait to see that '60 in person.

One of my favorite things about spring is waking the cars from their winter slumber. :drive2:

Congrats on getting the cars out.
I want to get mine out so bad, but Im not allowed to drive for at least 3 more weeks (stupid surgery). I did manage to open the garage up and look at them for a while. It was also a great day to fire up the grille for the first time this year.
I hope I am able to make it to OHIO, I want to see that 60 bad!!

Well, John, I'm wanting to see your Knickerbocker, so we're even!

I still remember the '50 Knickerbocker I stumbled upon many years ago near Ypsalanti MI, often wonder where it ended up. I turned the key, trying to start the car, but for some reason it was the wrong key, and would not turn, so I never heard it run, and the antique store was closed, so I couldn't pursue it further. I hope you're able to join us in Ohio. Tom

hyperbaric

Tom,
Looking forward to seeing the new coach in Ohio. I was not too concerned with the Concorde in the pictures. We all have to have a daily ride. What more can you tell us about the hyperbaric chamber in the yard?
Glad to hear the new engine seems to be doing all things right.
Mike

Too bad Tom

Too bad you didn't get into that antique store. They also had a 48 Henney Flower car inside and sold it before I found out about it. Last I knew she still had a 55 Acme combination.

glad you got the cars out........

Great post Tom. Yes, it was beautiful here in Indiana and it almost hit 70 here in Indpls yeaterday. I got the Rolls Royce out [first time in 6 months] and went for a 35 mile drive to burn off some of the old gas and I added new fuel. Sure felt good to give the RR 412 cu in engine a workout. On the next nice day the limo will see the light of day, it's still in deep winter storage.........:17875:
