A/C Compressor

I was wondering, since I'm going to be changing the water pump in the next week or so and in the process I will be replacing all the belts, would it make sense to not install the air conditioning compressor belt since the AC is not functioning right now an I may not look at the AC system until later this summer or maybe even next year.

Would it hurt anything if I don't reconnect the compressor?

What are your thoughts and recommendations?

More information is needed. How many grooves in the A/C pully? What does the A'C belt also drive? Do you have any idea why the A/C doesn't work? If you energize the A/C compressor does the compressor turn? It might be that all that it needs is a recharge.

I have done it on both of my 76s. Wrap the belt around the crank pully and the power steering pulley and measure the length. I don't have the napa part number off hand but they can get one close. You can do it without removing any parts off the car. You need to put the belt on before you put the water pump pulley on as the belt will not fit between the crank pulley and the water pump pulley
