'75 M-M Classic Duplex restoration, part 2

Any of ya'll who have been involved with getting an old car worked on know that progress usually comes in fits and starts. The body work on my '75 M-M is essentially complete, and Gordy was planning on painting the door jambs this week. I got these photos last Sunday.

The end is definitely in sight! I can't wait to see the finished product! Anybody have a nice left-hand rear bumper end (the vertical assembly)? That's the one remaining body part I need. After all the talk about trimming beacon skirts, I'm going to let Gordy handle that for this car. The '69 M-M graciously lent her hill light to this newbie for the short trip to Bostic about three years ago for a chapter meet, but I have a couple of possibilities for this one-a 175 Hill Light or a 184H. I'm leaning towards the 184H. I only have one M-M demountable adaptor, so until I find another there won't be any quick "beacon swaps" like Cliff Bergum was known to do with his '72 Superior 54"!

Well if you find the 75-76 bumper fairy I need a left and a right! Oh and bezels too.

Car looks great there John, best of luck and keep the pictures coming. I have the requested parts for my 74 but will be putting them on one day. I was fortunate that Leo had them for me when I bought the Criterion from him. You can have the old ones but not sure when I will exchange them.

I have a strong concern that this is not an official body shop you are dealing with John, an official auto body shop always has a bikini girls/auto parts calendar on the wall (extra points if the calendar is over 3 years old...) somewhere. I think it is federal law. I don't see any in this shop...

I agree no shop is complete with out it, and at least a old centerfold on the wall hiding somewhere. Mine is no exception. When some one mentions it that is what i say.

Don't worry, Kent, there are one or two there-they just don't show up in the photos. At least one in the office.....

Bumper ends

Well if you find the 75-76 bumper fairy I need a left and a right! Oh and bezels too.

I found a 74 M-M in a local yard it had a few good things, one which was a rear bumper with oooo rust. Only second one I have seen in 10 years with no rust. I am keeping it for the moment for a future project. I do have 2 ends that I picked up a few weeks ago. 1 is nice no rust the other has a slight rust out starting to show which is a easy fix before rechrome.. $45.00 each plus shipping Thanks.

Don't be so sure about the shop...

They probably have very good taste; upon completion of the painting, they're planning to use John's car for the first photo shoot. That's why John is keeping the new color a secret...he can't wait to let us see the "big picture" with HER in it! :drama:
