was the stick a factory 3 speed or did they put in a four speed. with other mods I guessing that's the way they went. hard to find a big olds with a 3 speed in 71. it was offered just not a lot of takers

I was also wondering about the manual. I didn't even realize it was offered on the Olds 98 chassis. That would be a rare one to snag if its a factory optioned. I know I would like to own a hearse with a manual trans.

It wasn't.

so when was it last offered? My 67 88 had the three on a tree and the 425 engine. it was a special order car but GM still would do it on request. the Arch bishop in Midland has it now you could get the three speed on a full size Chevy. threw the 70's. but by then vary few people would order one.

A police department I know ordered some Chevie Biscaynes with three in the tree the thought was no automatic to go bad cheaper maintenance. The cops hated them. Worse yet issues with the steering column and shifter mechanism caused the cars to be replaced within a year. This said nothing of the cops being hard on the clutch so clutch overhauls came at a rate of around every 10000 miles so actual cost was more than automatic. Pennsylvania State Police had some neat three in the tree Chevies in 61,62 and 63.They bought Bel Airs 327 cu in 250 hp with three in the tree and about half with overdrive. I had a few bought from the state shifters were LOOSE but otherwise they cooked.
