Looks nice. Giving her a bath really made a difference. I bet a good wax and buff would really make this thing shine. Looks like only minor areas need touched up, most shops can computer match the paint very close.

Wellllllll.......

I havent posted the "BAD" pics yet......she does have a few issues......

mostly on the passenger side ...looks like that side took the bulk of the weather..... for example ..on the rear fender the fiberglass is actually starting so show and peel....and there is quite a bid of pitting on the rear door and again on the "weathered" side doors ..not a large area......but enough...and of course the front lower rear part of the fenders...is rusted through...:(

Looking good! I'll bet this car made many trips to the hospital in Montrose during its time in service.

I am sure it went there......not so sure of the "many" part.....

The retired fire chief that owned it said it was their first out car for a few years...but they then used it as a "back up" for the volunteers when the " suburban" (Stoner) was purchased......;)

Your very welcome glad it went to a good home. I did not post right at first and had to give it serious thought but it wasn't my favorite year, so I just passed the info along.

how is the top? the lower half may be all you need to do. but we know pictures lie. really not a lot of bad there. the original paint doesn't hold up well on the fiber glass fillers. I'm not sure why but they check out and fall off first. but the chance to get on as it was is a one in a lifetime find. get the lower half done at lest the car deserves that. then all you need to do is let your wife enjoy it. it's still her's right??

Ed,
The top is pretty decent....the usual cracking especially around the 2 front corners...but other then that not to bad.....

As fars it it being the wifes.....yes,I am doing this one for her........she was a newly graduated RN in 1976....and would get "hired" every once in awhile to transport a CCU patient from an smaller outlying hospital to a "real" hospital...usualy UC Davis or UC San Francisco....an 1 1/2hours away (by code 3)....and this was the same type of ambulance she ran her 1st call in.....
She was exhausted..after that trip being a new graduate and then a Long ride in an ambulance.....and on top of it..we had a CHP escort the last 20 minutes of the trip into SF traffic....and at the hospital the CHP asked her out !!!!:argue:
Funny how things have changed......:)

Did he happen to mention the 61 (or was it a 62?) MM Guardian his FD once owned?
