68 Cadillac radiator

My friend called me today and asked about her radiator. Does anybody know where to get one or a parts number? It's a 68 Cadillac hearse with a 472, I believe it has a/c.

Is hers missing, or just junk? If it is there, a good radiator shop can recore it at a reasonable cost (I think the last one I had done was under $200). If its gone im sure you can locate one from a salvage yard, or vintage Caddy website. Sorry I cant be more help at the moment.

I just checked the price of a replacement for my 1969. The cost was $35 for a made in USA replacement through my local radiator shop. This is the same radiator as used in the 1968.

Josh,
I think a recore is the way to go. Personal experience is that a replacement for a 67 Olds was going to be over $250. This was from a parts house here in town. Guaranteed for 6 months. The recore came in at $147 with a 2 year warranty. That was a few years ago now but I doubt too many things have changed since. Depending on how period correct you want to be some of the new aluminum radiators are good buys too. One outfit was advertising that their 3 core would cool as good or better than a old 4 core. I would still go for a 4 core if it were my car. Any GOOD radiator shop should be able to help you solve this problem.
Good luck,
Mike

found a supplier for all of our radiators for our old cars

Found a vendor, that makes all of the old radiators, for our old cars, they have a great web site, with factory tour on line, so you can see how they make them from scratch, the great thing is, their old school, copper and brass, you can order stock like the car makers, installed when new, or you can get more coils, bigger passes, they have a mid level, and then the high end one, one of the upper scale units is 20% better heat transfer, the name of the company is US Radiator, made here in the states, with USA products, what a novel idea, U S radiator.com
